Ingredients:
2 strips orange zest, 1-inch wide and 4-5 inches long
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cups brewed coffee
1/2 cup brandy
4 - 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
Method:
In a 2-quart saucepan, combine the orange zest and cinnamon sticks. Add the brandy, turn off the heat and with a long match*, and ignite the mixture. After 30 seconds, the flame should be extinguished. If not, simply blow it out. Add the coffee and simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour into warm mugs and serve immediately.
*When flambeeing, be sure to turn off the heat on the stove and remove the pan from the heat before adding the liquor. Then use a long match stick to ignite the mixture. As always, have a fire extinguisher easily accessible in your kitchen.
